Since the WACO Inc. was founded, the organisation has dedicated itself to changing lives through music. From 2008-2016, WACO Inc. produced fundraising concerts for various charities, including the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Redkite, Legacy, Dreamfit, CanTeen, Youth Focus, Beyond Blue, and Guide Dogs WA.
From 2017 onwards, WACO Inc. took a new direction in charity work. Now, our own volunteers work in the community to make a difference first-hand in the lives of others.
Music has the power to touch human hearts in unique ways that can reach beyond the struggles of dementia, depression, anxiety and loneliness. Bringing live music to hospital patients and nursing home residents has had a positive impact on many.
In 2018 and again in 2019, volunteers from our ensembles gave over 40 performances to residents and their families in nursing homes and hospitals. All of these charitable performances were made possible by ticket sales and donations from the public.
