Meet our new Operations Coordinator, Ashton Weaver!
After receiving so many fantastic applications from our wide-spread music-loving community, the team at WACO were thrilled to have Ashton join us last month in our Operations Coordinator position.
Ashton is a dynamic guitarist and composer with a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Performance with First Class Honours from WAAPA. Through collaborating with various Perth-based and international acts as a session musician, producer, and composer, he explores a wide range of genres and contexts. Ashton is a key member of the Perth indie outfit Mal de Mer, touring across the country and earning praise from Rolling Stone, WAM song of the year nominations, and a growing international audience. Alongside performing he also loves composing and creating sound design for theatre and short film, having designed multiple shows at the Blue Room Theatre during the 2023/24 season.
With extensive experience in Arts admin, Ashton has said he is excited to join the WACO team as Operations Coordinator and help bring beautiful performances to life, and we’re equally excited to have him on board!
